Authorities are investigating what caused a fiery car crash in a far northwestern suburb of Chicago that left three people dead.
Lake County sheriff's office Detective Christopher Covelli says a Kia Optima left the road around 2 a.m. Wednesday in Ingleside. The vehicle hit a tree and became engulfed in flames.
Covelli and fire officials say three people were found dead in the car.
The victims have yet to be identified. No identification was found on any of the three bodies and the license plates attached to Optima don't belong to the car.
Authorities say fingerprint, DNA and dental tests could take days or weeks to complete.
Ingleside is about 50 miles northwest of Chicago.
