Valdosta, GA : Lake Park man dies in a two-vehicle wreck in Valdosta on Tuesday, August 2, 2016

A two-vehicle wreck killed a Lake Park man Tuesday in Valdosta, police said.

At 7:54 a.m., a white 2010 Hyundai Accent and a white 2006 GMC Sierra truck collided in the 2000 block of East Hill Avenue, according to a Valdosta Police Department press release. Police and the fire department responded to the scene.

The driver of the Hyundai died at the scene, while the driver of the truck was not injured, police said.

The road was closed with traffic diverted onto nearby streets but was reopened by mid-afternoon, police said.

The Valdosta Police Traffic Unit and the Crime Scene Unit from the Valdosta/Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory were working at the scene, police said.

The deceased driver was identified by police as Evan A. Souris 23, of Lake Park.
