Omaha, NE : Omaha man, 37, dies after crash with semi in western Iowa on Tuesday, August 1, 2017

A 37-year-old Omaha man died as a result of injuries he suffered Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 30 in western Iowa.

Kevin Bright was taken to a Missouri Valley hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement from the Iowa State Patrol. The accident occurred about 8 a.m.

Investigators determined that a 2013 Ford Econoline van driven by Bright rear-ended an eastbound 2010 Peterbilt semitrailer truck stopped on Highway 30 at 180th Street in Harrison County. The semi, driven by Bradley Davis, 51, of Red Cloud, Nebraska, was waiting for a pilot car to guide it through a construction zone.

Davis was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
