Moline,IL : Driver in hospital after semi crash on November, Thursday 16th 2017

The driver of a semi was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when the truck turned on its side as the driver switched from Interstate 80 to Interstate 88.

The crash happened at 1:10 p.m. on the eastbound ramp when the tractor-trailer went off the road and tipped onto the driver's side, according to the Illinois State Police. The driver, whose identity was not released, was removed from the vehicle and flown by helicopter to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City for treatment.

The East Moline fire and police departments, the Illinois Department of Transportation and Life Flight all assisted the state police in dealing with the crash, the release states.
