HALIFAX COUNTY, VA : Man charged after fatal crash in Halifax County on Saturday, 20th July 2024

One man is dead and another has been charged after a crash in Halifax County Saturday.

Robert Hermanowski, 78 of Nathalie, died after being taken to a hospital after the crash July 20, 2024 at the intersection of Route 501 and Dudley Road.

Brandon L.S. Rogers, 30 of Nathalie, has been charged with driving too fast for highway conditions.

Virginia State Police say Hermanowski was driving a Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Route 501 when he was rear-ended with a Ford Explorer, also heading south. The Silverado ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

Rogers was driving the Explorer, and was not injured in the crash.
