Bend,OR : Three injured in rollover crash on U.S. Hwy. 97 north of La Pine on December, Wednesday 20th 2017

A crash roughly eight miles north of La Pine on U.S. Highway 97 closed the highway for roughly an hour Wednesday.

At around 11:51 a.m., a Toyota SUV and a Ford Ranger pickup slid off the southbound lanes, with the pickup rolling down an embankment and pinning an occupant, according to a report from the La Pine Rural Fire Protection District.

Three people were injured and transported to St. Charles Bend, one by ambulance, one by helicopter ambulance, and one in a private vehicle.

The fire district has responded to multiple crashes on Tuesday, with several inches of new snow on roads in the area.

The highway was reopened at 1:18 p.m.
