A man struck by a Toyota Prius on the Hollywood (101) Freeway in Hollywood Hills died Saturday, July 13, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday.
The crash was reported at 8:30 p.m. Saturday on the northbound 101 Freeway near Highland Avenue in the Cahuenga Pass, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.
The man ran into a northbound lane, north of Highland Avenue, directly into the path of an approaching 2014 Toyota Prius that was traveling at least 65 miles per hour, the CHP reported. The woman driving the Prius was unable to take an evasive action, the CHP said.
“The reporting party witnessed a male fly through the air,” Kimball said.
