Westbound Interstate 74 near Montana Avenue has reopened after being closed for about 45 minutes due to a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a cement truck around 4 p.m. Thursday.
A wrong-way crash was to blame for the crash and subsequent closure. A red pickup truck and a cement truck collided head-on, Cincinnati police said.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated but one of the vehicles allegedly began traveling eastbound in a westbound lane on I-74, Cincinnati police said. The red pickup truck flipped as a result of collision, police said.
None of the motorists involved appeared to have major injuries, Cincinnati police said.
At least one of the motorists involved was trapped inside their vehicle and later extracted when emergency officials arrived.
The road was still closed at about 4:45 p.m., and traffic was being re-routed to eastbound I-74 lanes via an emergency-access road linking the two roadways.
Additional information was not immediately available.
