Hopkinton, R.I : Two hurt in Route 95 motorcycle crash in Hopkinton on Wednesday, August 27, 2014

A motorist and his passenger received what were believed to be serious injuries Wednesday when their cycle collided with a car on southbound Route 95, according to the state police. Lt. Michael Reynolds reported that the crash occurred about 7:45 p.m. between exits 2 and 3 . He said the southbound side of the highway was shut down for more than an hour. The northbound lanes were closed down for a shorter period, he said, to allow a helicopter to land and take the injured to Rhode Island Hospital. He said the motorcycle operator was a man from West Greenwich who was 45. There was no immediate information on the passenger. He said the car driver was not hurt.
