Hopkinton, R.I : Two hurt in Route 95 motorcycle crash in Hopkinton on Wednesday, August 27, 2014
A motorist and his passenger received what were believed to be serious injuries Wednesday when their cycle collided with a car on southbound Route 95, according to the state police.
Lt. Michael Reynolds reported that the crash occurred about 7:45 p.m. between exits 2 and 3 . He said the southbound side of the highway was shut down for more than an hour. The northbound lanes were closed down for a shorter period, he said, to allow a helicopter to land and take the injured to Rhode Island Hospital.
He said the motorcycle operator was a man from West Greenwich who was 45. There was no immediate information on the passenger. He said the car driver was not hurt. All names were withheld because the crash is under investigation.
