Columbia, SC : One person died in a head-on collision in Richland County on Friday night, July 8, 2016

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a head-on collision in Richland County that left one person dead.

Troopers say the collision happened Friday night at about 9:55 p.m. on the 9300 block of Garners Ferry. The victim was driving Westbound in the Eastbound lane of Garners Ferry, according to troopers, when they struck a pick-up truck head-on. The driver of the car died at the scene.

The Richland County Coroner identified the deceased driver as 27-year-old Crystal Jade Dunbar of Batesburg-Leesville.

The pick-up truck had four people inside, all of which were transported to the hospital. We do not know any of their conditions at this time.

The collision remains under investigation by SCHP.
