Tinley Park, IL : 2 killed in Bishop Ford crash near 159th Street on Monday, 9th April 2018

Two people were killed and a third seriously injured in a crash Monday afternoon on the Bishop Ford Freeway near 159th Street in South Holland, according to state police.

A 58-year-old Chicago man who was driving a gray 2004 Pontiac sedan and a 93-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle both died, and a 46-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car was taken to Christ Advocate Medical Center in serious condition, police said Tuesday in a news release.

A preliminary investigation shows that a GMC sport utility vehicle and the Pontiac were in the center lane traveling north on Interstate 94 south of 159th when the Pontiac slowed to move into the right lane and was rear-ended by the SUV, police said. The impact forced the sedan into a concrete wall, according to the release.

The driver and two passengers in the SUV were not hurt, police said.
