Hoover, AL : Crash is causing major delays along I-65 southbound, with stop-and-go traffic on Tuesday afternoon August 26th 2014
Road debris apparently caused a crash along Interstate 65 southbound near Montgomery Highway that caused major Tuesday afternoon delays.
One person was injured and taken to St. Vincent's Hospital for treatment, Hoover Fire Capt. Gregg Rector said.
Delays have cleared.
The crash was reported about 1:20 p.m. A trucker told police that he rear-ended a red car when the car's driver slammed the brakes to avoid debris, the call log shows.
There had been earlier reports of debris in the lanes along I-65 southbound in the area.
As of this time, there aren't any initial reports of injuries.
The crash is causing major delays along I-65 southbound, with stop-and-go traffic still occurring as far back as Alford Avenue as of 2:15 p.m.
