Ravenna, OH : Ravenna High School student injured in Friday morning crash September 16 2016

A Ravenna High School ninth-grader was injured Friday morning when the student, who was riding a bicycle, came into contact with a car, according to Ravenna police and school officials.

The incident occurred at the entrance to the high school as students were arriving for school. The student, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital, but has since been released, according to school officials.

In a post on Facebook, the district wrote, "This is a sad piece of news, and we ask that everyone respect the family and all those involved by not commenting without information as details are not fully gathered. Instead, let's focus our thoughts on prayers for the injured student and for the many lives impacted by this accident."
