MARTINSBURG, WV : Berkeley County man dies after multiple vehicle crash on U.S. 11 on Monday, 9th December, 2019

A Berkeley County man died Monday and two other motorists were injured in a crash involving three vehicles on U.S. 11 south of Martinsburg, West Virginia State Police said.
Claude Roberts, 74, of inwood died at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, according to a state police news release.Dana Ludwig, 43, of Martinsburg was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and Amanda McCormick, 40, of Bunker Hill was treated by emergency-medical personnel at the scene and didn’t need to be hospitalized, police said.
The crash occurred Monday shortly after 4 p.m. in the 5400 block of what also is known as Winchester Avenue, the release said.
Roberts was southbound on U.S. 11 in a silver Nissan Frontier when it traveled into the northbound lane and struck a Jeep Liberty head-on driven by Ludwig, police said.
Roberts’ vehicle, which sustained significant front-end damage, then traveled further south in the northbound lane and struck a Hyundai Accent driven by McCormick, the release said.
