Palm Bay, FL : 35-year-old Cocoa Beach man died in motorcycle crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County on Thursday, Sep 10, 2015

Emergency crews shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Brevard County due to a fatal crash Thursday.

Authorities said the crash happened at mile marker 174, just south of the Palm Bay Road Exit, in Palm Bay about 6 p.m.

Investigators said a motorcycle and a pickup truck were traveling south on the highway and encountered stopped traffic at the exit ramp.

Officials said the motorcycle struck the rear of the pickup truck and overturned.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 35-year-old man from Cocoa Beach, was taken to a hospital and died.

The crash is under investigation.
