SIDNEY, OH : 1 kiled in 2-vehicle crash on Wednesday, 19th October 2016
One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Katie Aubrey McShirley, 21, of Trotwood, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred in the 9000 block of state Route 47 in Turtle Creek Township.
The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 10:26 p.m. about a two-vehicle injury crash. Preliminary investigation revealed McShirley was driving a 1994 Chevy S10 pickup truck and was westbound on state Route 47. The truck ran off the right side of the road and came back onto the road and slid sideways into the eastbound land and was struck by a 2009 Chevy Colorado, driven by John P. Goubeaux, 65, of Versailles, who was traveling east on state Route 47.
McShirley was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Shelby County Coroner.
Fort Loramie Fire and Fort Loramie Rescue responded to the scene. Goubeaux was treated at the scene by Fort Loramie Rescue and later transported to Wilson Health by private vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation.
