Red Bluff,CA : Sheriff releases name of woman in solo-vehicle crash on December, Friday 8th 2017
The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the woman who died in a solo-vehicle wreck late Friday night at Interstate 5 north of Sunset Hills Drive.
Katlyn Marie Mitchell, 25, of Corning, succumbed to injuries sustained and was pronounced dead just after midnight Saturday, Dec. 9.
Mitchell is related to a local law enforcement agency employee, but that relation was not released.
Mitchell was traveling in a 2013 Mazda-3 at an unknown rate of speed northbound on I-5 when for unknown reasons she drifted to the left into the dirt divider of the interstate and collided with a dirt embankment and the vehicle overturned.
When it overturned the vehicle was about 30 feet below the roadway in a ditch.
Mitchell was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
