Las Vegas, NV : Toddler hit, killed by school bus in North Las Vegas on Thursday, April 14, 2016
A 2-year-old boy was hit and killed today by a Clark County School District bus, according to North Las Vegas Police.
The accident was reported about 3:40 p.m. in a residential neighborhood in the 600 block of Princess Avenue, near Carey Avenue and Revere Street, police said. The child who was struck lived in the neighborhood, police said.
Rosa Torres, who lives in the neighborhood, said she felt a lot of pain seeing the boy in the street after the accident. She cautioned drivers to be careful and urged parents to “lock your gates and keep an eye on your children.”
Torres said neighborhood children often play soccer and basketball in the street and that drivers “don’t respect the speed limit.”
“Our kids can be gone in a blink of an eye,” she said.
In 2012, an 11-year-old girl was hit and killed by a school bus in the northwest valley.
