Groton, CT : Two drivers involved in a noontime crash on Monday, 1st January 2018

One of the two drivers involved in a noontime crash on New Year’s Day has died in the hospital, according to town police.
Police said the crash happened at 12:04 p.m. in the intersection of state Route 184 and Flanders Road.
Police identified the deceased driver as Jean Shutsky, 88, of Oakdale. Also involved was Marilyn Comrie, a 66-year-old Groton resident. Comrie, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, remains hospitalized at Yale New Haven Hospital, police said.
According to police, Shutsky was driving a 2007 Nissan Versa east on Route 184 while Comrie was driving her 1999 Honda Fit north on Flanders Road. Police said the two cars collided in the intersection of the two roads.
