Roanoke, VA : A teenager was killed in Rockbridge County on May, Monday, 15th 2017

A teenager was killed in Rockbridge County on Monday morning after a single-vehicle crash.

Authorities said the wreck occurred at 10:41 a.m. on U.S. 11 at Shawnee Hill Trail. A 1996 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling north on U.S. 11 when it ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, according to a news release from Virginia State Police.

The release said Douglas Allen Reeves, 18, of Raphine, died at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt, the release said.

The crash is still under investigation.
