A 61-year-old man died about 5 a.m. Monday when he lost control of his car and crashed into a utility pole in Port Richey, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Paul J. Kane, 61, was driving a 2005 Ford Focus west on Ridge Road near Lemon Road. He lost control and drove across a ditch before hitting the wooden pole, according to the FHP. The car eventually stopped in a driveway on Ridge Road, and Kane died at the scene, according to the FHP. The accident was not alcohol-related.
