West Springfield, MA : Driver suffers medical problem before pickup truck crashes on Massachusetts Turnpike on Friday, January 8, 2016

Massachusetts State Police say a pickup truck driver has died after suffering some kind of medical problem while driving on the turnpike near West Springfield and the pickup hit two other vehicles.

Police say the driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at a hospital after the 3:40 p.m. crash Friday at a toll booth exit. The pickup hit a car, traveled over the median then struck a sport utility vehicle before coming to rest on its roof.

Three people in the SUV were also taken to the hospital. Their names were not released.

Traffic was disrupted for about two hours during the crash investigation.
