Tulsa, OK : Quapaw man identified as Sand Springs crash victim on Saturday August 27, 2016

A driver who died after crashing into a tree in Sand Springs on Saturday evening has been identified as a 45-year-old man from Quapaw.Joe Joseph was northbound on 177th West Avenue just north of 41st Street when his 2002 Ford Explorer departed the left side of the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree around 6:10 p.m., according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Joseph was pinned inside the SUV for about 2½ hours and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The report states he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
