Decatur, AL : Somerville man killed in Upper River Road crash on Tuesday, January 10th 2017

A Somerville man was killed Monday night on Upper River Road when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a ditch and trees, Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn said.

Charles “Chuck” Michael Starr, 44, of Somerville, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 7:45 p.m. accident on Upper River Road near Bluff City Road, Chunn said. Starr was not wearing a seat belt, he said.

Chunn said it appears that Starr’s vehicle went off the right side of the road, crossed to the other side of the road, and crashed into a ditch and trees.

State troopers said Starr's Toyota Sequoia overturned and struck a tree about 4 miles north of Somerville.
