Tulsa, OK : Woman killed in hit-and-run crash near Wagoner on Saturday, 20th August, 2016

Troopers are searching for an assailant who struck and killed a woman with a vehicle early Saturday along a stretch of highway west of Wagoner.
The crash happened about 3 a.m. on Oklahoma 51. Preliminary information from the scene indicates a vehicle struck the woman and then fled the scene, Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokesman Paul Timmons said.
Troopers believe the vehicle was red because of debris left at the crash site, though they haven’t yet completed their investigation nor determined what kind of vehicle was involved, Timmons said.
It is unclear whether the woman was walking in the roadway or along the shoulder when she was hit, Timmons said.
The woman’s name hasn’t been released.
