Milwaukee, WI : Woman flees wrong way on I-94 after crash on Friday, February 20, 2015

A 51-year-old woman was arrested Friday for a hit-and-run freeway crash from which she drove off in the wrong direction on I-94 near Rawson Ave., according to the Milwaukee County sheriff's office.

The woman fled north in the southbound lanes after striking another vehicle shortly after 6 a.m., according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

The woman then sideswiped an oncoming car before turning around at College Ave. and exiting at Rawson Ave.

She was stopped by deputies at S. 13th and W. College Ave., according to the release.

The woman, who has no criminal history, showed no signs of intoxication and said she had "just panicked," according to the sheriff's office.

The incident will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County district attorney's office, according to the release.
