WINSTON-SALEM, NC : Archdale woman dies in Winston-Salem crash on April, Wednesday 5th 2017

A 92-year-old Archdale woman was killed Wednesday when the vehicle she was riding in overturned on U.S. 311 South, Winston-Salem.
According to reports from Fox 8 News and the Winston-Salem Journal, Helen Phillips Morrison was a passenger in a pickup truck being driven by Betty Sue Morrison, 63, also of Archdale.
According to Winston-Salem police, the crash occurred at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday after the vehicle passed the Ridgewood Road exit. The pickup ran off the left side of the road before returning to the highway and then ran off the highway’s right side. The pickup then struck a guardrail and overturned, police said.
Helen Morrison was pronounced dead at the scene and Betty Sue Morrison was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The highway was closed for five hours between Ridgewood and Union Cross roads until the accident scene was cleared.
