Silver Spring , MD : Driver of truck minorly injured in Crash after truck hit an overpass on the Beltway and dumped loads of sand onto the roadway on Friday, March 6th 2015

Major delays continued on the inner loop of the Capital Beltway near Georgia Avenue in the Silver Spring area.

A truck hit an overpass on the Beltway and dumped loads of sand onto the roadway. The incident happened around 6 a.m. and crews are working to clear the area. The driver of the truck was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.

The delays are reportedly six miles in that area. The three right lines remain blocked and highway officials said there are extended closures expected.
