A 25-year-old man is dead after a crash on Southern Boulevard near West Palm Beach Wednesday morning, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Marquet Robinson, of West Palm Beach, was putting out traffic cones behind a work truck and trailer in the extreme right lane of eastbound Southern Boulevard, near Jog Road, just before 8 a.m. Investigators said the trailer had an illuminated arrow to let drivers know to avoid the lane.

A 2000 Mercedes driven by Emmanuel Ernevil was headed east in the same lane as the work truck and hit Robinson, throwing him over a guardrail and into the grass, according to investigators. After Ernevil’s car hit Robinson, it hit the work truck, injuring another worker, according to the report.

The Mercedes continued out of control and hit a 2016 Silverado, investigators said. The impact of the crash caused the Silverado to hit a third vehicle which eventually crashed into a tree. Only minor injuries were reported for the other drivers and workers.
