SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP, OH : 27-year-old man dies in crash in Ashtabula County on Saturday, 7th November, 2020

A 27-year-old man has died following a crash on Austinburg Road in Ashtabula County on Saturday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 10:34 p.m. on Austinburg Road near Old Austinburg Road.

The OSHP said a preliminary investigation showed a BMW was traveling eastbound on Austinburg Road when it drove off the right side of the road, hitting a ditch before going airborne.

After the vehicle hit several trees, it came to a rest on the roadway.

The driver, a 41-year-old man from Ashtabula, was injured and was taken to University Hospitals in Geneva, where he was flown to a hospital in Erie, Pa. Troopers said he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
