A Fort Wayne police officer remains hospitalized, recovering from surgery after she was injured in a crash Sunday.
Officer Sophia Rosales-Scatena, a crisis response team negotiator, was responding to a report of a barricaded person on Warsaw Street when her vehicle was T-boned at Liberty Mills Road and West Jefferson Boulevard about 12:45 p.m. Sunday.
Rosales-Scatena, whose vehicle’s lights and sirens were in use at the time, suffered multiple fractures and underwent surgery.
The driver of the vehicle that struck her was not cited, but the crash remains under investigation, police said.
