Fort Madison, IA : FM man dies in motorcycle crash on the 1700 block of Ave. H. on Sunday, May 15, 2016

A Fort Madison man died as a result of a motorcycle/automobile accident Sunday. Jerry Hull, 47, 419 Ave. A, Fort Madison collided with a vehicle in Fort Madison.

The Fort Madison Police Department reports Alyssa Gilpin, 16, 2204 Ave. A, Fort Madison, was driving a 2016 Ford Escape 11:31 a.m. Sunday on the 1700 block of Ave. H. A vehicle stopped in front of her and motioned for Gilpin to go past her. As she drove across a lane of traffic, Gilpin stated she didn’t see the motorcycle driven by Hull.

Hull collided with the right side of Gilpin’s vehicle and Hull was thrown from the motorcycle. He was transported to the Fort Madison Community Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Gilpin was cited for failing to yield on a left turn.
