ST. JOHNS COUNTY, FL : Semi-truck crash leaks fuel onto I-95, closes SB lanes on Wednesday, 9th November 2016
Fuel leaked onto Interstate 95 Wednesday after two semi-trucks crashed near the Interstate 295 exit, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said.
Bruce Burch, 60, was driving southbound in his semi-truck when he rear-ended 45-year-old Ezequiel Rodriguez's dump truck, officials said.
The collision made Burch's semi, with two trailers, spin out across lanes of traffic before stopping on the shoulder, officials said.
Rodriguez's dump truck crashed into the guardrail before stopping partially in the northbound median, Officials said.
Fire rescue crews responded to the crash and called a hazmat team to clean up the fuel leak, officials said.
The crash closed one southbound lane of I-95, with a second lane closed during cleanup.
Both men suffered minor injuries, officials said.
