Newport News, VA : One killed in early morning crash on I-64 in Newport News on Saturday, 15th September 2018

A 39-year-old Newport News man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-64 early Saturday morning.

State Police responded to the crash around 3:27 a.m., according to a news release from spokeswoman Michelle Anaya. Armand Brown, of the 600 block of River Court, was driving a 2006 Toyota Avalon on I-64 westbound east of Jefferson Avenue when the wreck happened.

Brown lost control of the car and over-corrected, causing it to veer off the road before hitting a tree head-on. He was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center where he died, Anaya said.
