KINGMAN, AZ : A Austrian bicyclist injured in a crash in Kingman on Wednesday,11th April 2018
A Austrian bicyclist injured last week in a crash in Kingman has died.
Stefan Ganster, 40, was touring the United States on his bicycle. He was traveling west in the curb lane on Beale Street, when a Dodge pickup changed lanes and crashed into the back of the bicycle, said Deputy Chief Rusty Cooper of the Kingman Police Department.
The collision caused Ganster to be thrown from his bike, Cooper said.
He was immediately flown to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Vision obstruction and speed are believed to be factors in the crash, Cooper said.
The truck driver, a 59-year-old Chloride man, remained at the scene.
No citation has been issued while the investigation is ongoing, Cooper said.
