Joplin, MO : A Lamar man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident on February, Tuesday 27th 2018

A Lamar man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 4 p.m. Tuesday on Northwest 10th Lane, a mile west of Lamar in Barton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Daniel T. Williams, 40, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

Williams was driving a northbound car at a high rate of speed as it crossed some railroad tracks and became airborne, according to the patrol. The car struck the roadway with its front end as it came down in a nose dive.

• A Carl Junction woman sustained minor injuries when the bicycle she was riding was struck by a car at 1:45 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 171 at Airport Drive, according to the patrol.

Abigail J. Cooper, 25, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Joplin.

A westbound pickup truck driven by Cassandra R. Fountain, 28, of Oswego, Kansas, struck Cooper's bicycle when Fountain failed to yield the right of way, the patrol said.
