Canadian,OK : Man drank vodka before causing fiery crash, killing teens on January, Tuesday 30th 2018
A man charged with killing two Yukon teenagers in a fiery crash will stay inside the Canadian County Jail.
Cochlin, bruised and bandaged, did not show much emotion after learning he will not receive a bond.
The decision came after prosecutors revealed new evidence about the night of the crash, in December 2017, saying that he drove while drunk, killing Sean Tucker and Luke Ross.
On the stand, investigators testified that Cochlin, drank vodka before crashing into the teens at more than 100 mph.
Investigators filed an arrest warrant for Cochlin who is charged with two counts of second-degree murder, but they said it took more than two days for him to turn himself in.
Cochlin’s defense argued that he was out of town. He turned himself in Saturday afternoon.
While searching for him over the weekend, investigators testified that they found an empty vodka bottle in his truck, which was parked at his house.
The judge ruled that, based on the evidence and the violent nature of his crime, Cochlin will not be given a bond.
