Authorities say a 23-year-old man has died in a one-car crash near a high-traffic stretch of a suburban Albany road.
Police in the town of Guilderland say Cory Ash of Albany was driving on Western Avenue around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday when he hit a guardrail at the intersection of Schoolhouse Road and ended up in a bank parking lot.
Ash was taken to Albany Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The crash scene is near where the southern end of the Adirondack Northway meets Western Avenue. Police say the area around the intersection and the Northway entrance ramp will be closed to traffic through the morning commute.
Police say the car Ash was driving was reported stolen from Albany minutes before the crash.
