MONROE TOWNSHIP, OH : A six vehicle personal injury traffic crash on May, Sunday, 21st 2017
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate a six vehicle personal injury traffic crash that occurred Sunday evening on Interstate 75 southbound at mile post No. 69, Monroe Township, Miami County.
At approximately 5:08 p.m. Sunday, a weather front entered the area and heavy rainfall occurred for a short period of time. A southbound vehicle reportedly lost control, hydroplaned, and a chain reaction traffic crash occurred.There were several injuries with one right front seat passenger being taken to Miami Valley Hospital via Care Flight. The names of victims have not been released.
Tipp City Fire Department, medic squad, and police department were on scene. The Ohio Department of Transportation provided traffic control with large arrow boards and warning signs. Southbound traffic was detoured onto both State Route 55 and County Road 25-A. Vehicles were removed by local towing services.
This traffic crash remains under investigation.
