Orleans, NY : 27-year-old man was dead in a single car crash on State Route 180 on Tuesday morning October 14th 2014

State police say a soldier stationed at Fort Drum in northern New York has been killed in a one-car crash near the Army base. Troopers say 27-year-old Cody Samuels of Fort Drum was driving on state Route 180 around 9 a.m. Tuesday when he lost control of the vehicle in the Jefferson County town of Orleans. Police say the car left the road, continued into a farm field, became entangled in an electric wire and overturned. Samuels wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car.
