SARASOTA COUNTY, FL : A man died when his SUV crash on Tuesday, August 15, 2017

A man died when his SUV crashed on State Road 72 Monday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to the FHP, Goran L. Rosendahl, 74, of Sarasota was driving a GMC Envoy east on S.R. 72 east of Hi Hat Ranch Boulevard at about 5:21 p.m. when the GMC drove off the road and onto the south grass shoulder. Rosendahl over-corrected as he tried to return to the lane. The GMC rotated counter clockwise across both lanes of the road and struck a ditch on the north side of S.R. 72.

The vehicle overturned and struck a fence, coming to rest on its roof.

Rosendahl, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and fatally injured.
