MEMPHIS, MO : LaBelle man dies in Scotland County three-vehicle crash on Friday 26th October 2018
A LaBelle man died Friday in a three-vehicle crash about 3 miles south of Memphis.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that Antonio L. Clay, 30, was a passenger in a 2017 Jeep Patriot driven north on Mo. 15 by Brittany N. Goddard, 26, also of LaBelle. At 2 p.m. the Jeep struck the rear of a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was stopped in the road, driven by Beverly Brubaker, 16, of Memphis.
The impact of the crash sent the Brubaker car into the southbound lane, where it was struck by a 2010 Peterbilt tractor trailer driven by Alvin D. Garman, 32, of Memphis.
Investigators said Clay was not wearing a seat belt and pronounced dead at the scene by the Scotland County coroner. Goddard was wearing a seat belt and sustained serious injuries. She was taken by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Assisting the patrol at the scene were the Memphis Police Department, Scotland County Sheriff's Department and First Responders.
