ARLINGTON, TN : Two people were injured during a crash on Friday, July 7, 2017
Two people were injured Friday morning during a crash involving a street sweeper.
The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Jack Bond Road and Brunswick Road in Arlington.
A crumpled black Volvo is all that's left after the violent crash.
"I've lived along Jack Bond Road for 2.5 years. There's never been anything like this," neighbor Brian Pilcher said.
The driver of the Volvo was trapped inside his car for 35 minutes. Emergency crews eventually freed him and and airlifted him to the hospital. He remains in critical condition.
The driver of the street sweeper was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
