BLUEWELL, WV : A single-vehicle crash on May, Thursday, 18th 2017

First responders were dispatched Thursday evening after a single-vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of Dawson Road and Route 123 near Bluewell.

The crash was reported at approximately 9:23 p.m. when the driver of a Ford Cobalt SL traveling on Airport Road (Route 123) toward Bluewell attempted to turn onto Dawson Road, according to Deputy M.T. Hatfield of the Mercer County Sheriff's Department. Sgt. J.J. Ruble was the lead investigator. The car went onto an embankment and overturned.

The driver was transported to Bluefield Regional Medical Center, and his condition was unavailable Thursday.

Units of the Bluewell Volunteer Fire Department, the Green Valley-Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department, and the Bluefield Rescue Squad were dispatched to the scene.
