Las Vegas, NV : Motorcyclist in critical condition after crash near Gilespie on Sunday, August 21, 2016
A Las Vegas man is in critical condition Sunday after running a red light and crashing his motorcycle into a vehicle near East Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Gilespie Street.
About 1:10 a.m., a 2012 Kia Forte was traveling east on Silverado Ranch near Gilespie, according to Metro Police. The 68-year-old driver was attempting to make a left turn on a green traffic signal when a westbound 2013 Honda CRB 1000rr entered the intersection against a red traffic signal.
The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Kia, causing the motorcycle to overturn and the rider to be ejected. The motorcyclist, 31-year-old Pili Richards, was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries, police said.
The driver of the Kia, who received moderate injuries, remained at the scene, police said.
This crash remains under investigation by Metro Police.
