A Rock Island man has been charged in relation to a hit-and-run accident that left two motorcyclists seriously injured.
The collision happened around 10:18 p.m. May 15 when a Dodge Charger collided with a motorcycle near the intersection of 32nd and Harrison streets, according to Davenport Police. The Charger's driver left the scene without attempting to call the authorities or render aid, police said.
The two riders on the motorcycle were seriously injured. The motorcycle operator, Peter Baril, 19 of Davenport, was airlifted to University of Iowa hospitals in Iowa City. His passenger, an unnamed 17-year-old woman from Davenport, was taken to Genesis Health System's eastern campus, police said. Their conditions were not available Monday.
Police have arrested Terrelle Bonner, 43, of Rock Island, in connection to the crash. He has been charged with leaving the scene of a serious injury crash and no driver’s license, according to police. Mr. Bonner was booked into the Scott County Jail Monday morning and free on a $2,000 bond, according to the jail website.
