WICHITA, KS : 1 killed in accident on I-235 on Thursday, 14th March 2019

The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified a 29-year-old man who died in a crash in south Wichita.

Emergency crews were called at around 2:15 a.m. Thursday to the accident on I-235 between Seneca and MacArthur. The patrol says Kenneth Piper was heading southbound and failed to negotiate a curve. He overcorrected and his Honda Civic started spinning.

The car struck a bridge and came to rest in the middle of the road, where it was t-boned by a minivan.

Piper died at the scene. The 30-year-old woman driving the minivan was hospitalized with minor injuries.
