ALEXANDRIA, IN : Rollover crash sends driver to hospital on Friday, March 24th 2017

A 64-year-old Muncie man was taken to Community Hospital on Friday after following a single-car rollover accident.

According to a press release from Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger, Michael D. McCammon was northbound on Indiana 9, north of County Road 1700 shortly after 11 a.m., when the 1999 Ford Ranger he was driving left the road, came back on it, then left again and went into a ditch. Witnesses said the vehicle rolled over and came to rest upright.

McCammon had to be extricated from his car by members of the Summitville Fire Department.

The accident was still under investigation later Friday; however, a medical issue is believed to be the contributing factor, Mellinger said in the release.
