LOUISVILLE, KY : 20-year-old arrested after 2 die in head-on crash in Marion County on Saturday, 2nd November 2024

A 20-year-old man was arrested after a crash that left two dead in Marion County Saturday, Nov. 2.

Kentucky State Police said the crash happened around 6:20 p.m. on US 68 near the intersection of Jessietown Road. An initial investigation showed Erick Garcia, 20, of Lebanon, was heading west when his truck crossed into the eastbound lane and then left the roadway. Garcia steered back into the eastbound lane and hit a car head-on.

The passenger of the car heading east, Deborah Wright, 72, of Lebanon, died at the scene. The driver, Roy Wright, 75, of Lebanon, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Garcia was arrested and has been charged with vehicular homicide while under the influence, assault, DUI, wanton endangerment, careless driving, and failure to produce an insurance card.
