Chattanooga,TN : Children safe after truck crashes into Walker County school bus on Thursday, 10th May 2018

A school bus carrying 11 children collided at low speed with a pickup truck at the intersection of Henderson Avenue and Maple Street in Rossville, Ga., Thursday afternoon, according to Georgia State Patrol.

One child complained of neck pain and was treated at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, said Georgia State Patrol Trooper Judd Whitfield.

All 11 children were checked at the scene before parents or guardians picked them up or being put on another bus for drop off, Whitfield said.

The bus was traveling north on Henderson Avenue at around 3:45 p.m. as the truck was traveling west on Maple Street. The bus was making a right turn at a stop sign when the truck hit the bus in the front.

Whitfield said any charges are pending the investigation.
